Strixa vs Luzmo

An honest capability comparison. No invented customer logos or fake benchmark scores.

Who is Luzmo?

Luzmo (formerly known as Cumul.io) is an embedded analytics platform designed for SaaS companies that want to add customer-facing dashboards to their products without building a BI layer from scratch. Luzmo provides a drag-and-drop dashboard builder, an embedding SDK, and multi-tenant row-level security. It is particularly popular with SaaS companies in Europe. Luzmo Flex, a newer product, allows building fully custom analytics components with React.

Overlap

Where Strixa and Luzmo overlap

Both platforms cover some of the same ground. Here is what Strixa verifiably supports in this area.

  • Both platforms are designed specifically for SaaS companies embedding analytics in their products
  • Both offer JWT-based embedding with per-customer data isolation through row-level security
  • Both provide multi-tenant architectures where many customer organizations share the platform
  • Both support a wide variety of chart types for interactive dashboard building
  • Both support scheduled report delivery and alerting

Differentiating angles

Where Strixa takes a different approach

  • Strixa bundles a full ETL pipeline layer for connecting to databases and warehouses. Luzmo requires you to bring your own data connection; it does not include built-in ETL for SQL source extraction.
  • Strixa includes a formal semantic layer: dimensions, measures, joins, and RLS rules defined once and applied across dashboards, reports, embeds, and AI. Luzmo's data model is built per-dataset without a shared semantic contract layer.
  • Strixa includes document reports as a first-class surface: multi-page, paper-layout, with headers, footers, and scheduled PDF delivery. Luzmo focuses on dashboard surfaces and does not have a dedicated document report builder.
  • Strixa includes an AI analyst grounded in the published semantic model. Luzmo has some AI-assisted features but these are primarily in the dashboard builder, not a governed natural language query layer.
  • Strixa includes built-in alerting and anomaly detection on any metric from the semantic layer. Luzmo has some alert capabilities but these are less central to its platform.

Evaluation checklist

Questions to ask during your evaluation

Use these when comparing any BI platform, including Strixa.

  1. Does the platform include built-in ETL for connecting to SQL databases and warehouses?
  2. Is there a formal semantic layer that governs metric definitions across all embedded dashboards?
  3. Can the platform produce multi-page document reports for PDF export and scheduled delivery?
  4. Does the platform include an AI analyst that is grounded in approved metric definitions?
  5. How does the platform handle schema changes in the underlying database?
  6. What is the cost model: per embedded user, per tenant, or per query?
  7. What is the level of UI customization available for embedded dashboards?
