Semantic-first AI Native Enterprise BI platform

Strixa vs Qlik

An honest capability comparison. No invented customer logos or fake benchmark scores.

Who is Qlik?

Qlik offers two main products: Qlik Sense (modern, cloud-native) and QlikView (legacy desktop-based). Qlik is known for its associative data model, which allows users to make selections across multiple data fields and see connected and unconnected data simultaneously. Qlik has added Qlik Cloud, AI capabilities through Qlik Staige, and a data integration layer. The Qlik ecosystem spans analytics, data integration, and AI-assisted insights.

Overlap

Where Strixa and Qlik overlap

Both platforms cover some of the same ground. Here is what Strixa verifiably supports in this area.

  • Both platforms offer interactive dashboards with a wide range of chart types
  • Both provide some form of business logic or data model abstraction above raw tables
  • Both have embedding capabilities for integrating analytics into external applications
  • Both support access control and row-level security for data governance
  • Both offer scheduled exports and delivery of analytics content

Differentiating angles

Where Strixa takes a different approach

  • Strixa uses a formal semantic layer where dimensions, measures, and relationships are declared explicitly and reused across every surface. Qlik uses an associative model driven by in-memory data loading scripts, which is powerful but a different conceptual approach.
  • Strixa's multi-tenant SaaS design (per-row tenant_id, JWT-scoped queries) is designed for ISVs building analytics into their own products. Qlik's multi-tenant embedding is possible but requires careful capacity and tenant management at the Qlik Cloud level.
  • Strixa's JWT embed flow is a single API call returning a dashboard-scoped token with optional customer_id row-level security. Qlik Embedded Analytics uses Qlik's OAuth and capacity-based licensing model, which adds infrastructure overhead.
  • Strixa includes document reports as a built-in surface with multi-page, paper-layout support and scheduled PDF email delivery. Qlik does not have a dedicated document report builder.
  • Strixa bundles ETL pipelines for extract-based ingestion from SQL sources. Qlik has a separate data integration product (Qlik Data Integration) for enterprise-grade ETL.

Evaluation checklist

Questions to ask during your evaluation

Use these when comparing any BI platform, including Strixa.

  1. Does your use case require an associative data exploration model, or a query-driven semantic layer?
  2. How does the platform handle strict per-customer data isolation in a multi-tenant SaaS deployment?
  3. What does the embedding flow look like for integrating governed dashboards into an external product?
  4. Can the platform produce multi-page document reports for board packs or client delivery?
  5. What is the total licensing cost including analytics, data integration, and AI at your scale?
  6. How does the platform govern which metrics and tables are accessible in AI-generated queries?
